I took yesterday off with my NHL picks, but I hit 2 of 3 on Saturday thanks to both the Senators and Canucks coming through in shootouts. That’s a pretty scary way to get the W, but a win is a win.
My season record for picks is now 7-3 for +2.89 units.
I’m using the best odds from any of our top rated sportsbooks for Canadian bettors for my NHL picks.
Ottawa Senators @ Detroit Red Wings
I’m going back to the well and tailing the Senators once again tonight. When healthy this Senators team can score goals and the way the Red Wings back end is built these days, I like the match ups for both of the Senators top lines regardless of who the Red Wings put on the ice to slow them down. I really like the Turris-Hoffman-Stone line to have a big game tonight and I also expect the Sens to continue to improve defensively as they get more meaningful games in under Guy Boucher. There will be growing pains, but the Sens are being given some very winnable games to start the season and I think they will be improving to 3-0 after tonight.

Boston Bruins @ Winnipeg Jets
The Scheifele-Wheeler connection has gotten off to a great start, picking up right where they left off last season. Being at home should allow the Jets to keep this line away from Zdeno Chara, which will give them the best chance to find the back of the net against the Bruins.
Boston did have a nice comeback win against the Blue Jackets in their opening game, but then they looked very bad against the Leafs. Even with Bergeron the Bruins are an average team at best, and without Bergeron I’d argue that the Bruins are one of the weaker teams in the league.
I don’t expect the Jets to have any trouble potting a few goals in this one and that should be enough to get the win.
