Make that three 2-0 weeks in a row with my NFL spread picks. The Cardinals got the road win over the Giants as +3 underdogs, and the Patriots smashed the -10 spread with their 33 point win.
I’m now 9-5 with my NFL picks this season and 6-0 over the past 3 weeks.
I will be using SportsInteraction.com for all of the spreads and picks below. You can see our full SIA review here. I’m going with just 2 picks again in week 8.
Oakland Raiders @ Houston Texans
- Oakland +6.5
- Houston -6.5
The Texans are better than their 4-3 record indicates. They dropped their week 1 game in New Orleans to a Drew Brees lead Saints team, lost last week to a very game Colts team in Indy, and weren’t able to figure out the Panthers defense at home in week 4. I don’t expect the Texans to have trouble putting up points this week against the Raiders who just gave up 42 to the Packers.
The Texans should be able to get DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller the ball early and often in order to run up this score at home against the Raiders.
Oakland has played some solid games this year, but I’m not confident at all in their defense, and when they come up against top QB and receivers like Watson and company they aren’t able to keep points off the board.
Play: Texans -6.5
Miami Dolphins @ Pittsburgh Steelers
- Miami +14.5
- Pittsburgh -14.5
I expect Pittsburgh to take this opportunity playing the lowly Dolphins in prime time on Monday Night Football to get their offense going. JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner have had pretty slow starts to the season without Big Ben and I expect the Steelers to look to get these guys going with big games against this Dolphins defense.
Mason Rudolph should be ready to return after his concussion in week 5, and I do think this offense has the ability to move the ball with him at QB.
The Dolphins have shown they can keep games close early, but I am not encouraged just because they were able to stay close with the Redskins and stay with the Bills for most of the game last week.
I will be smashing this line at -14 or -13.5, but I still think there is a little value at the current line of 14.5.
Play: Steelers -14.5
