Last night was one of the tougher nights of the season for my picks. I went 0-3 and this included a shootout loss by the Lightning and an overtime loss by the Sens. It’s always tough when your underdog picks lose in extra time. A win from either of those teams would have almost allowed us to break even going 1-2 for the night, but alas it didn’t work out.
NHL Season Record: 31-34 for +3.17 units.
There’s only two games on tap tonight, and I’ve found 1 play that I like.
Boston Bruins @ Toronto Maple Leafs
The Bruins have been playing much more like the Bruins we have come to expect from past seasons. They’ve now won 5 straight and have done very well to allow only 9 goals in this span. The competition hasn’t been the best in the league, but the Leafs will also fall into this category. Combine this with the divisional rivalry between these teams and you can expect the Bruins will come out with their A-game tonight on their first of a quick back to back road trip.
Toronto has been scoring well of late, but I think that had a lot to do with the Senators shoddy defense in their last game. I don’t expect the Bruins to make as many mistakes to allow the Leafs to get quality chances. Look for the Bruins to win this one.
