I kept the hot streak rolling going 3-1 with my week 9 picks to continue adding profit. The Stampeders and Redblacks kept their games close to beat the spreads, while the Roughriders covered the 2 points. The only loss of the week was taking the Ti-Cats to cover -13.5 vs the Lions in a game that ended up being close.
I’m now 13-7 with my CFL picks this season and I’m looking to keep this train rolling into week 10. I will be using the odds from SportsInteraction.com for my CFL picks again this week. They are our top rated betting site for Canadians and they are actually partnered with several CFL teams this season. Check out our full SIA review here.
BC Lions @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers
- BC +12
- Winnipeg -12
The Lions were able to stick with the Ti-Cats last week, losing by only 1 point. I did not expect that, but the Lions offense was clicking. This week though the Lions are up against a very sound defensive team in the Blue Bombers, and I just don’t see them putting up over 20 points.
The Bombers should be able to run up the score against this Lions team that has given up a league high 276 points this year. I see the Bombers getting over 30, while the Lions should struggle to score, finishing with under 20 points.
Play: Blue Bombers -12
Edmonton Eskimos @ Toronto Argonauts
- Edmonton -9.5
- Toronto +9.5
The Argos got a huge win over the Blue Bombers in week 8. This was a massive win for them because it will have completely changed the mood heading into last weeks bye. If the Argos entered the bye week 0-7 I think finding motivation to utilize the bye week would have been difficult to find. But beating one of the top teams in the league should give them belief that they still have a shot at turning this season around.
I think the Argos will play another solid game and could potentially get a win over the Eskimos this week. I’ve been fading the Eskies all year and this week will be no different.
Take the Argos plus the points, and if you’re feeling it I think the money line is also a solid play.
Play: Argonauts +9.5
Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Ottawa Redblacks
- Hamilton -3.5
- Ottawa +3.5
The Redblacks have played solid football over the past three weeks. They are just 1-2 in the span, but the two losses were tight games against solid teams. I still think the Redblacks have the personnel to make the playoffs this year and a few key wins could turn their season around.
The Ti-Cats completely a big time fourth quarter comeback to avoid an upset loss to the BC Lions last week, but giving up 34 points to the Lions doesn’t instill a lot of confidence in this team. I think the struggling Redblacks offense will be able to find the back of the end zone in this game, and a full team effort in front of their home fans should be enough to get Ottawa the win in this one.
Play: Redblacks +3.5
Montreal Alouettes @ Calgary Stampeders
- Montreal +7
- Calgary -7
I’ve been backing the Stampeders all season and I’m going to continue backing them this week. They lost a tight battle in Winnipeg last week, but I still think they proved once again they are an elite team in this league.
Montreal had a good stretch a few weeks into the season, but they’ve now lost two straight coming out of their bye week and I’m not convinced they will be able to keep pace in Calgary this week.
The fact that Vernon Adams Jr. looks like he will return at QB this week is definitely a huge positive for the Alouettes, but I still think the Stampeders are just at a different level.
Play: Stampeders -7
