I took last night off because I couldn’t find any plays that I liked in the 3 games that were on the schedule. Back on Tuesday though I hit both of my free picks and I’m just absolutely on fire at the moment with these free plays. In the last week and a half of free picks I’m up about 10 units, which means I’m almost out of the hole that my horrible December – mid-January got me in. Bryzgalov did exactly as expected in the game against the Panthers, allowing 3 goals on 8 shots, which made it very easy to hit the over 5.5 in that game. That alone with the Rangers win over the Leafs allowed us to hit the two plays on Tuesday.
NHL Free Picks Record: 73-91-1 for -4.56 units.
New York Rangers @ Colorado Avalanche
The Avalanche have been very bad all year long. They actually have the seccond worst corsi for percentage in the entire league at just 43.6, which is only better than Buffalo. If you’ve watched them play much this season you can see that they get dominated for large portions of the game and Varlamov has to stand on his head to keep them in the game. I like the Rangers in this one to hand the Avs their fourth straight loss in a row.

Florida Panthers @ Minnesota Wild
The Wild are on an absolute tear. Yes, they lost in overtime to the Jets on Tuesday, but that was their second game of a back to back and now they’re back home hosting the Panthers. I like the Wild to continue their push to the playoffs with a win at home tonight.
