I took the day off yesterday with the single game being played on Thanksgiving Thursday in the States. That quiet Thursday has made for a very interesting Friday with a huge slate of games that we don’t usually get heading into Saturday. On Wednesday I went 1-2, but with the Flames win I was only down 0.25 units for the night. It’s time to start winning some coin though these next two nights.
NHL Season Record: 42-50 for +0.37 units.
There are a few games that start early tonight, so be aware of that. The Rangers vs Flyers game is actually starting right now as a write this.
New York Islanders @ Washington Capitals
I don’t think anyone can stop the Islanders right now. They’re on a 5 game winning streak and have simply been on a tear winning 10 of their last 11 games. Tavares is finally getting some scoring support this season, which has translated into a lot of success. Add in the fact that the Isles seem to have figured out how to play defense (20 goals against in the last 11 games) and you have yourself a real threat in the Eastern Conference.
I also like to fade the Caps because I don’t think they’re that good this year and people overrate Ovechkin, when I feel he doesn’t necessarily help a team win games.

Winnipeg Jets @ Boston Bruins
I’m going to take a flyer on the Jets in this one because I think the odds are too good to pass up. The Jets have been good away from home this season with a 8-4-2 record and they’re also on a 2 game winning streak although the wins have come over much weaker opponents.
The Bruins haven’t looked like themselves quite yet this season and I think this is a good time to fade them a little bit when you’re getting this good of odds.

Minnesota Wild @ Dallas Stars
A team I’ve loved to back so far this season are the underdogs against a team I’ve loved to fade. This one is a no-brainer for me. I like the Wild to impose their style of game against a Stars team that is still having trouble keeping the puck out of their own net. Yes the Stars are on a 3 game winning streak, but the Coyotes and Oilers were two of these wins, as well as a Kings team that can’t figure out how to win on the road. The Wild should take this one as long as Kuemper or Backstrom don’t lay an egg in net.
