I took a couple days off from my NHL picks after celebrating my 5 for 5 night from Saturday night, which included 3 underdog picks. So far it’s a great start to the season and I’ll look to continue to pick winners tonight on a busy Tuesday in the NHL.
NHL Season Record: 9-2 for +8.92 units.
San Jose Sharks @ Washington Capitals
The Sharks have yet to allow a goal this season with a couple shutout wins over the Kings and Jets. The Sharks seem to always get off to a fast start and I think they will continue to play well at both ends of the ice against the Caps. Washington has had a good start to the season as well, posting a big 4-0 win over the tough Bruins this past Saturday after a shootout loss to the Habs. That said the Sharks have the firepower to score on a Caps team that is still learning a new system.

Colorado Avalanche @ Toronto Maple Leafs
The Avs did play yesterday, but it was a matinee game so this young team will have a lot of time to refresh in time to place Toronto tonight. Both of these teams got their first wins of the season in their most recent games, but the Avs are still the better team from top to bottom and I like them as underdogs tonight. They beat the Bruins last night and they will look to build on this big win tonight.

Buffalo Sabres @ Carolina Hurricanes
A couple of winless teams will look to get a point on the board in this game between the teams who will likely be the bottom feeders in the NHL. The Sabres already have a -10 goal differential, while the Hurricanes have lost 2 games to the Islanders to kick off the season. I’m actually going to take the Sabres tonight because the Canes are without their forward core with Eric Staal, Jordan Staal and Jeff Skinner all still out of the lineup due to injuries. Sabres coach Ted Nolan called out his team after last night’s 5-1 drubbing by the Ducks so I expect his team to respond to this challenge against a team that they actually stand a chance against.

Calgary Flames @ Nashville Predators
The Preds have looked extremely good to kick off the season. They beat the Sens by a goal, but dominated that game and then followed that up with a dominant 4-1 win over the Stars, while completely dominating that game. I’m expecting more of the same against the Flames tonight, which is why I’m taking the Preds to win by 2 or more (puckline).
Play: Predators -1.5 2.75 @ 5Dimes.eu
Good luck tonight everyone!
