NHL Stanley Cup Finals Game 4 Betting Odds and Pick

Sport Betting Canadian Hockey MascotThe Kings shut out the Rangers on Monday night, despite giving up 32 shots and only getting 15 themselves.  Jonathan Quick was solid and nothing got past him in this first road game of the Cup Finals.  The Kings now have an opportunity to close out the Rangers in game 4 at MSG.  If anyone knows how important this game is it will be the LA Kings.  They were down 3-0 in round 1 against the Sharks before tearing off 4 straight wins to advance from the first round and now they are 1 win away from their second Stanley Cup in 3 years.  Let’s not forget either that the Rangers were down 3-1 against the Penguins in round 2 so they will by no means be an easy out and you have to think they still believe they could win this series.

The Kings are still underdogs in this game, but they are slightly smaller dogs than they were for game 3.

My Pick

Rangers BettingI had the Kings in 5 games to start the series and I’m sticking with that prediction.  I expect the Rangers to get a win with their backs against the wall in game 4.  They have played quite well in this series actually and in my opinion they don’t fully deserve to be down 3-0.  Henrik Lundqvist didn’t have the best game of the series in game 3 and I expect a huge bounce back performance from him.  In the Conference Finals after Lundqvist got lit up by the Canadiens in game 5 he came back with a shutout in game 6.  I expect a similar showing from him at home in game 4.

There are also sentimental reasons why I want the Rangers to win tonight.  The Kings would set the record for most games to win the Stanley Cup as long as they don’t sweep this series.  It would be cool for history to be set and for the Kings to win in front of their home fans in game 5.

As small favourites in this game I like the Rangers to extend the series, but I don’t expect a huge series comeback like the Kings had in series 1.
